Why KISO

KISO manufactures the fleece-backed butyl tape used to seal joints and penetrations in wet rooms. The fleece surface of KISO 512 accepts cement, plaster and paint. Because KISO compounds its own butyl, width, thickness and fleece construction can be matched to your wet room system. For manufacturers of wet room systems and for distributors, KISO can produce to your specification and supply under your own brand, including packaging, printing and labels. Founded in 1971 and ISO 9001 certified, with production in Køge and customers in 20+ European countries.

Applications

Watertight joints in bathrooms, kitchens and other wet rooms
In a wet room the weak points are the joints: between floor and wall, between wall sections, and around drains and pipes. KISO 512 Fleece-Butyl Tape is made for water sealing at these points. The butyl gives a watertight and airtight seal, and the non-woven polypropylene fleece laminated onto it reinforces the strip and accepts cement, plaster and paint, so the seal can be built into the wall or floor finish.

Corners, pipe collars and cracks
The tape is supplied as strips or as pads that form a pipe collar. For corners it can be supplied with an overlapping liner paper for a two-step application. It is also used to seal and reinforce cracks in walls before plastering. Processing conditions vary, so we recommend testing the tape in your own system.
